Details

Some objects carry more than their own beauty. They carry the stories of the people who treasured them before us.

Dating back to at least 1928, this remarkable silver-plated pedestal bowl was once presented as a gift, its history preserved in the delicate engravings around its base.

One inscription reads “From the classmates” — alongside the year 1901, while another commemorates the date 18 June 1928.

Who gathered to present it? What occasion brought them together? And how many celebrations has this beautiful piece witnessed in the nearly one hundred years since?

We may never know. But that is part of the charm of collecting objects with a past.

Crafted with a beautifully hammered surface, an elegant beaded rim, and a substantial pedestal decorated with floral motifs, the bowl has a timeless presence.

Fill it with an abundant bouquet of flowers, use it as a striking centrepiece, or imagine it holding ice and a chilled bottle of rosé for a leisurely afternoon gathering.

Discovered in a small Danish secondhand shop, this piece is ready to begin its next chapter in a new home.
